Studioware Team

Studioware recently hosted two students from the Mattei Institute in Vasto for a school-to-work transition experience that proved to be extremely educational and engaging.
During the two weeks spent at our headquarters, Giulia Menna and Emiliano Bana had the opportunity to deepen their theoretical knowledge and apply it in a practical setting, working with technologies and programming languages currently used by the most innovative development teams.

The task assigned to the two students was to develop unit tests for a middleware component. The main goal was to ensure that the middleware correctly converted information from System A to System B, preventing any data loss. This task required not only a solid understanding of programming concepts but also careful analysis of system requirements and the ability to design effective tests.

Throughout the two weeks, the students worked closely with our development team, receiving constant support and guidance. They learned to use advanced tools and technologies for test development, improving their technical skills and gaining a broader, more realistic understanding of the software development process.

UML

Given the students’ great motivation and eagerness to learn, we decided to offer them an additional growth opportunity. A senior analyst at Studioware held an introductory lecture on the use of UML (Unified Modeling Language) for software modeling. In particular, the students focused on creating a Use Case diagram, a fundamental tool for understanding system requirements and planning software development.

Of course, there were also moments of fun!

The school-to-work transition experience turned out to be a great success for both parties. The two students acquired practical and theoretical skills that will undoubtedly help them in their academic and professional careers. Studioware, in turn, had the opportunity to contribute to the training of young talents, as it has done for many years, strengthening its ties with the local community and the institutions that are part of it.

The technology sector has been searching for programmers for years, both here in Abruzzo, in Italy, and in many parts of the world. The school-to-work transition program is a valuable experience that combines theory and practice, giving young people the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. Studioware is proud to have hosted the two students from the Mattei Institute in Vasto and is committed to continuing to support such initiatives, contributing to the development of future generations of ICT professionals.
